KEN'S WOODSHOP is a maker of fine furniture and accessories in support of the Zen practitioner. The items shown are of the SOTO Zen tradition and are the result or product of over 25 years of experience and use in the American Zendo and the meditation rooms of these sentient beings.
The Rev. Ken McGuire, a Buddhist Priest, has been practicing and teaching in New Mexico for over 25 years. He has had two lecture tours in Japan and has visited many “family” temples as well as visiting with the Lord Abbot of SoJi-Ji, the Soto Zen Headquarters Temple in Tokyo. In this time period, he has come to terms with the differences in method and the differences in needs that have altered Zen for Americans.
Presented here are many of the items that are needed to provide a propitious location for meditation in the home and for the establishment of a properly furnished Zendo.
